California Baptist Blue Defeats Gold 27-7
It was the final tune up for California Baptist before it began their official season on Nov. 21 versus Embry-Riddle at Cal State Fullerton at 2:30 p.m. and on the same day the Lancers return home for their first home dual versus Stanford at 8 p.m.
The Blue team defeated the Gold 27-7 in the first intersquad
“The intra-squad provided some answers and caused some questions,” said CBU head coach John Petty. “We are a young team and it was good to see our young guys step up and compete. I told our guys that I am not concerned about wins and losses, our focus is to compete hard for seven minutes and winning will take care of it self. We wrestled very hard against each other, which is a difficult task, but I was impressed with the improvements they showed. We still have a lot to work on, but I like the direction in which we are headed. We held some guys out who were a little dinged up to recover for our upcoming duals next Friday; hope to see you here.”
