Sweep Their Four Matches in CMSU Dual Jamboree
(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - It was a banner day for the Cardinal and Black wrestlers as they went 4-0 in the CMSU Dual Jamboree.
The Mules knocked of Southwest State (Minn.) in the first round 28-15. Central Missouri State then rallied from a 13-9 deficit in their second match by winning their final three matches to down Minnesota State-Moorhead 22-13. In the third round CMSU jumped out to a 21-6 lead and had to hold on for a 27-21 win over Eastern Illinois. In their final dual the grapplers were victorious over the Gators of San Francisco State by a 27-13 decision.
Plamen Paskalev and Adam Tieben led the Mules with four wins apiece. Paskalev's first two matches ended in pin falls in the first period and his last two matches were forfeits. Tieben won his first two matches by decisions; he picked up a hard fought victory over Aldon Struchen of SMSU 1-0 and then defeated Minnesota-State Moorhead's Kyle Trout 11-7 in his second match. Tieben's final two matches were no contest as he pinned Thomas Johnson of Eastern Illinois in 2:46 and Jeff Johnson of SFSU in 2:26.
