Nebraska, Franklin, & Marshall earn top seeds for 25th annual Virginia Duals

HAMPTON, VA. - The University of Nebraska and Franklin & Marshall College earned the top-seeds in their respective divisions of the 25th annual Virginia Duals wrestling tournament which begins on Friday morning.

Nebraska, who enters the 16-team National Division ranked sixth nationally and sporting a 9-1-1 record, will face the University of North Carolina in a 9 a.m. match. The University of Missouri is the second seed and will face The Citadel in an 11 a.m. matchup.

In the 8-team American Division, Franklin & Marshall College returns as the defending champions and earned the top seed. The Diplomats will face the host team Newport News Apprentice School in a 9 a.m. matchup. South Dakota State is the second seed and will face the 2003 runnerup Millersville University at 11 a.m.

48 high schools will also compete in this two-day event in three seperate 16-team brackets. All action will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. and on Saturday at 8 a.m. For more information, please visit the website for the Virginia Duals at

The Charles Championship Wrestling Camps (CCWC) is coming to 3 locations this summer 2005.

Evansville, IN - June 8-11, 2005
Chandler, AZ - June 22-25, 2005
Lyons, KS - Aug. 3-6, 2005

This summers CCWC will be limited to the first 100 wrestlers. The campers will be trained and coached by college wrestlers while they prepare to compete in a folkstyle wrestling tournament, which is part of the camp. This wrestling tournament is open to the public (non campers can participate) and entry is $8. All high school wrestlers who are freshman, sophomores, or juniors this year should be thinking about wrestling in the Brute adidas Nationals being held April 1-3, 2005 at the University of Nebraska. Last year the tournament had over 775 participants and 42 states represented.
