Idaho State Wrestling Coaches Clinic
2nd Annual Idaho State Wrestling Coaches Clinic being held this November in Boise.
This year's clinic looks to build on the last years which saw close to 50 coaches attend and walk away with some great tools for the season. This year we will be bringing in Bill Zadick, NCAA Champion and current USA Freestyle Assistant Coach will provide technique; Wayne Branstetter, head coach of Poway High School in San Diego, California, Wayne's team is the reigning California State Champions, Wayne will provide his insight on building and sustaining a quality program, technique that works; and Don Owen, head coach of University High School in Spokane, Washington and current NCAA Div 1 official, will provide insight on running a program, and being on both sides of the coin, an official and a coach.
Idaho coaches, plan on a Saturday lunch meeting that will attempt to replace the State Coaches Meeting at the state wrestling tournament in February, John Billitz, the Idaho High School Activities Association Director, will be in attendance to field all questions and concerns.
In addition, we are trying to get the State Rules Interpretation requirement meeting to be offered at the clinic as well.
FINALLY, the clinic will feature a BSU Bronco practice session with a Q and A immediately following on Friday evening and then your clinic fee will get you admission to the BSU dual vs. University of Great Falls on Saturday evening where IDAHO's 5th Ranked BRONCOS and defending PAC 10 CHAMPIONS will begin the season's home wrestling schedule.
