I started wrestling competitively when I was 5 years old. My father, Ron, and my brother, Eric, influenced me into the sport. My father has always been my coach, from when I first started through my high school years. I had a lot of success through my elementary years winning over 20 state titles in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman.
In 8th grade I broke the varsity line-up and won my first Minnesota State High School Championship. Since then I have won three more state titles and 5 national titles. Last season was a memorable one when my high school team made it to the State Dual Tournament. I also won my 4th individual state title, won the NHSCA Junior National Tournament, and was named an Asics All-American First Team Member. Last summer I won the Asics/Vaughan Junior National Freestyle Tournament.
This year I hope to become Minnesota‚s third 5-time State Champion. I am currently 37-0 with 25 pins, 10 technical falls, and 2 forfeits.
After this year, I will be attending the University of Minnesota. I am undecided on my major, but I plan on always being involved in the wrestling community, whether it is competing or coaching.
